Sound Roads Music has an outstanding team of dedicated instructors, all of whom are determined to help students succeed. Our instructors offer support and guidance, uniquely tailored to each student. Our goal is to provide an environment where teachers are valued for their outside-the-box thinking, creative ideas, and connection with their students.

Travis Reynolds

Piano

Travis Reynolds is a composer and pianist based in Santa Monica  

Travis received his Bachelors in Music from The Boston Conservatory, where he was hired as a staff pianist his senior year. The following year he co-founded and performed with the new-music group Soundry, which received the inaugural Boston Conservatory entrepreneurial alumni grant. A versatile pianist, Travis free-lances with everything from soloists to choirs, musicals, and bands. He currently serves as music director and pianist at First Unitarian Universalist of Los Angeles, is an active composition and piano teacher on the West Side, and an aide to the music program at John Adams Middle School.   

His music has been heard across the country, in Carnegie Hall, and taken on tour to Europe. His compositions have been performed by the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra, Lynx Project, Calliope, SoundWave Milwaukee, and members of both the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and Boston Modern Orchestra Project.  In addition to his work in the concert hall, he has scored numerous short films, and his educational music has been taken up by several high school and amateur string orchestras.

DYLAN RYAN

DRUM

Born in Chicago, Dylan Ryan took full advantage of the city's musical offerings, studying with several of the Windy City's jazz legends as well as playing in the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra.  While earning his BA from DePaul University, Dylan was already touring and recording with indie rock bands and jazz combos.  Since then he has played on over 50 recordings and performed all over the world with multiple bands.  Most recently, Dylan's music has been featured in the LA Film Festival's Audience Award recipient I Am Thalente.

 

He has performed on the stages of such festivals as LA's FYF Fest, Austin's Fun Fun Fun Fest, and Chicago's Pitchfork Fest.

 

Dylan has been teaching drums for 15 years and has been on staff at several music schools including The Bloom School Of Jazz, and The Old Town School Of Folk Music.
